Biography

LAINE RAIA, proprietor of THE PONDERAIA, is a MA licensed riding instructor specializing in HORSEMANSHIP, with special focus on the adult beginner as well as those seeking to return to the wonderful world of riding.
 
LAINE'S PHILOSOPHY:
If you cannot get your horse, and only your horse, correctly and safely out of turnout and through the gate, into the barn, onto crossties, brush, pick hoofs, bridle and saddle, then you should not yet be on that horse.
 
LAINE'S QUALIFICATIONS:
Laine has an extensive and diverse background in the world of horses, including Showing, Polo and Thoroughbred Racing.  She has ridden out after wild horses on BLM land in California, Wyoming and Idaho, and enjoys participating in annual horse drives with the Tomlinsons at The Silver Spur Ranch in Idaho.

AUTHOR, EDITOR and REVIEWER:   Laine is a contributing author to the HORSE TALES FOR THE SOUL series.  Laine’s stories and articles have appeared in a number of publications.  Her reviews can be found on the jackets of cookbooks, children’s books, mysteries and equine novels.  Laine also edits manuscripts for first time and established authors.
